Neopets has just launched its new mobile app, Tales of
Dacardia. It was released in Beta testing for Canada users prior to launching to the public today. You’ll be able to link your Neopets account to Tales of Dacardia via Neopass, so you won’t lose anything.

It’s available to download on the Google Play store and App store.

How are we all feeling about it?

They've been working on this game for 7 years. Seven.

And that's just the time we've known about the project.

Tales of Darcadia was first announced as Neopets X back at Comic Con 2018.

And this is how far we've gotten.

Just about everyone who's played it seems to agree that there is not enough content to make this a must play. Their other game World of Neopets faces similar problems. You can do all that there is to do in about an hour play-time and that's just not enough for a modern mobile game.

What’s everyone’s first impression of dacardia?

I’ll give my first impression that no one ask for ^w^

It’s actually a super good game
I play a lot of games from the AppStore and tbh this game is one of the better ones.

First is not full of ads . I hate games that you can even touch the screen without an add popping up

Second I feel like it runs pretty smooth (for reference I have an iPhone 14 so I haven’t had lag problems)

It notifies you when things are done

I like that it has a storyline!

The characters and art style is super cute (won’t say much so I won’t spoil!)

Tbh I really see myself supporting neopets and buying their extra stuff from the app just to help them keep his app going

I’m hoping for some exclusive prizes since you can link your neopets account. I miss ghoul catcher 🙁 !

I just wonder how much storage it’s going to take on my phone but other than that yall should try it!

I agree. It’s nice that they finally decided to release a mobile game. It’ll help them attract more players. There’s not much to do on it yet, but hopefully, they’ll be adding more features to it soon.
 
I've just downloaded it, however, the reviews aren't looking particularly great. Lots of issues with logging in and a few bugs here and there.

It would have been a bad decision not to have a mobile version of the game because it's going to give them millions of players. If they make such it's not too buggy with glitches, it's going to make gamers jump on it faster.

I can't login 🤣 🤣 😳 Neopass not working for some reason ugh. I've had to email support over it...

Once they implement more chapters into the game, they’ll be able to keep players engaged on the app for longer. Additionally, some glitches have been reported, so they need to iron those out. There are already 90 reviews for the game on the Apple Store, but I wonder how many times the app has been downloaded so far.

Glitches and video games are inseparable. There have never been any games that doesn't come with its own bugs and glitches at one point or another. They always have to work on patches for it.

That’s correct, which is why many developers choose to have alpha and beta testing phases before launching the actual game. This way, they can iron out all the bugs and glitches prior to the main launch.

A new wheel has been added to Tales of Darcadia that you can spin once per day for free. However, you can earn a couple more spins if you watch ads.

After accumulating 10 spins, you’ll receive a 'prize chest.'

Why am I not surprised they would add the feature of watching an ad to gain more spin slots to use. It's a good strategy to increase their money making through those ads.

I’m not that surprised either, they’ve been trying to increase their revenue since Neopets was in the hole for a couple of years prior to new ownership taking over. Hopefully they manage to get back into the green again!

Neopets has rolled out some new updates to Tales of Darcadia:

They are all after money. I don't blame them for doing such.

I love this new features update from Neopets. It looks very good.
 
This is amazing news for the virtual pet game lovers expecially for the mobiles. The Tales of Dacardia seems to establishes a fresh chapter for the Neopets franchise. I will get the app and try to explore Dacardia.
