There are a couple of changes that I am looking at seeing in future virtual pet games. For example, there is need for better customization options for pet personality and appearance that makes playing it more fun.

What are the other things you are looking out for?

There are so many virtual pet games with a good customization features for pets in the game. This isn't the biggest part I would love to see an upgrade in pet site games. My eyes are set on how good they can upgrade the game's graphics looking at what gaming industry is doing with Unreal Engine 5 in gaming development.

There's nothing like too much graphics in games. This is why game developers are always putting more efforts in making their games better in graphics. We surely need more of that in pet games.

We definitely do. I want my pets looking more real when I play the games and it is only possible with nice graphics designs.
 
Battle system similar to pokemon that would definitely catch my interest.
 
From my perspective, certain video games may benefit substantially from improved graphics. I believe game creators have the potential to make it happen, and it may significantly improve the entire experience for users. Interestingly, I recently discovered Biofeedback, a remarkable technology that allows virtual pets to react to human emotions. This innovative idea engages with technology, and I am excited to see where it goes in the future.
 
I would love to see a reduced microtransactions in pet site games in the future. I know they have to make nomen from the game but the microtransactions should not be too aggressive.

I think virtual pet sites will continue to evolve because there are advancements in technology as well. For me, I'd love to see more realistic graphics and AI-powered pets that will learn and also adapt quickly.

that sounds very incredible. I'd also like to see more of the social features that will allow the users to interact with each other's pets and also share resources too.
 
Thinking back to a virtual "pet" site I was hooked on, it would be pretty cool if it could migrate to the blockchain as an NFT.

I think that's the next evolutionary step for virtual pets.

I’d like to see more social features as well. Push notifications for forums and messages would be nice.

New features from other genres would be interesting too, such as a pet summoning system. If a site has a human avatar feature, they could summon pets.

I’d also like to see a pet unlocking system. Instead of just creating a pet or exploring for one, you’d have to battle or achieve certain stats to unlock a pet. If not, obtain a few map pieces or keys in order to unlock a pet that’s hidden.

However, a pet unlocking system could be vastly different.
It’s just something that I’d like to see and it could be a nice improvement to the future of pet sites.
 
Hard to say what will happen in the future, depends on if interest holds out and if new features can be shown.

I am looking at a situation where virtual pet sites can be able to build games that are better on mobile as well, also games that find a way to he educative as well. This is one of the ways that we can get more people get interested in playing virtual pet games.

I wonder if there are any upcoming pet games being developed using Unreal Engine 5.



Currently, many pet sites rely on their own in-house designers and coders. I don’t believe any of them are using Unreal Engine 5 yet, unless there’s a game on Steam or Itch that does.



With Neopets trending toward developing more mobile apps, I’m curious if other pet site developers will also start creating mobile apps to supplement their browser-based versions.

Virtual pet experiences have undergone a significant transformation because of smartphone applications. The modern apps deliver incredible 3D graphic features which is appealing to virtual pet owners..

The graphics of pet sites games of today aren't bad but I know they will keep getting better. They might not start using Unreal Engine 5 yet but they will get very close to it.

I hope Ai will help most of them give players that feeling that they've been looking for in terms of satisfying factor that come from playing. This is what I am looking at now.

I see different developers using AI technology, but not current developers that own pet games right now. The main developers that are utilizing AI technology are those that are involved in the blockchain industry and using the “virtual pets” concept to drive up their meme coins.

The only ones that are actually making strides with Augmented reality is Peridot.

Also, I don’t see AI generated graphics being utilized by pet site owners as its frowned upon with other players. The industry strives on unique ness and creativity from actual artists and creators.
