That's great. Any plans on adding new categories, or expanding existing categories.

Appreciate you asking. Right now, we’re not planning to roll out any new forum categories. We’ve been focused on refining what we already have. we've added some new prefixes to the Gaming section and recently opened up “Tech and Entertainment” to better organize off-topic banter.

However, if a certain topic starts taking over a space or proves it deserves its own lane, we’re not against creating something new. It just has to make sense for the community and not spread things too thin.

Sorry for the downtime the last couple nights! We ran into a small issue with our Apache server (with a 421 misdirected redirect after an update). It ispatched up now, and things should be running smooth again.

Hey y’all! There’s a new “virtual pets” system currently being developed for Xenforo. Once this add-on is released, we’ll be introducing a pets system on VPL.

Pets will be able to grow and level up.

In related news, the tagging feature has been disabled until further notice. We will also be introducing a dark mode soon for our main theme as well.



We’ve officially hit 35,000 posts and 850 members, what a milestone! A massive thank you to everyone who’s made VPL their home over the past few years. Seriously, you guys are what make this place special, and we appreciate every single one of you.

We are glad that the transition went rather smoothly and that users are experiencing a dramatic speed increase!

We have hit two new milestone in our directory, we now have a total of 160 virtual pet games listed along with 107 sim games.

We will be adding a lot more new games in the upcoming days; as we update the directory with a lot more games, as well.

That's not all folks, VPL has also hit two other major milestones; we now over over 4,7000+ threads along with over 43,000k+ posts, and are now itching closer to our first milestone of hitting 1,000 members!

We have introduced two new prefixes onto the forums, you can now select from "In dev" and "AI/VP/Game", so if your game is in development, or your game is made with AI/Art or code, you're now able to choose from either of these two prefixes in the following forums: virtual pets, gaming discussion, sneak peaks or the virtual pet information.

Hey everyone, we have rolled out a new dark theme on our main default theme. So if you prefer to browse the forums in dark mode, the system will automatically detect that you're using a dark screen on your phone and it'll switch it over.

However, if your system doesn't detect that you're using dark mode on your phone, then you'll need to select "Dark" on our footer. It is located where the moon" icon is. You can also change this in your user settings in your "user preference" section.

I am not a fan of dark theme but I know a lot of people feel that dark theme is appropriate for their eyes. I hope this improves users experience for those who like dark theme

I noticed when I tried to switch back to the light theme, it doesn't persist. Any way to update that?

I'm happy to see a dark theme here on VPL! I prefer dark themes over light ones, light themes hurt my eyes. Thank you for adding this feature. 🙂

Currently, there is a forum software system setting in place that doesn't allow it to persist as it's based on the mode that you're using on your device.
I'm also having the same issue on my iPhone. We are looking into a way to override that system setting all together.
However, in the meantime until we're able to fully patch this, we do have another layout that's similar to our Blueish layout. It's labeled VPL2024v2 that doesn't have the dark theme, only light. UIX also has the full light version.

Thanks for the heads up! I found the dark mode a little challenging to read so good to know there's an alternative. And sounds like a challenging problem to deal with -- I hope you guys can figure it out!
