Ever want to bring your Nintendog into Animal Crossing? That’s what we’ve started to build, releasing in Early Access. It’s a massive expansion of the core pet sim from VR: you can take Ember into adventures in the world, overcoming obstacles (and her fear of loud noises!) to uncover the secrets of her lost pack. Read her mood, keep tabs on her morale, decide when you want to press on – or go home for rest and recharge. We wanted to explore the give and take of a relationship with your pet. She needs you – and you need her to solve the Otherlands’s mysteries. It’s available NOW on Steam.

It’s a callback to games of our childhood – Petz, Nintendogs – and a genre that has exploded in popularity through apps like Bongocat. Those games kept a virtual pet with you where YOU were – your pocket, your computer desktop. Now Ember can live next to your email client, dozing in the corner, chasing your cursor, asking for food. She uses the same NPC AI and animation system from our main game, making this the most sophisticated (and adorable) overlay game ever made. It’s also available on Steam today!
