That's very correct. Social media also allows developers to engage with players and they can use the medium to gather feedback, and promote their games as well.

The social media has given rise to new phenomena like esports, influencer marketing, and also the organisation of virtual events. The connection of gaming and social media has actually created fresh opportunities for entertainment.

Social media brings about connection with gaming in the sense that gamers connect easily with other players. Gamers talks about reviews, show off their experience, influence marketing and promote their businesses.

Social media has made it much easier for developers to share their projects with a wider audience. With the rise of platforms like Twitch and Kick, developers can now reach more people than ever before.

Platforms such as Reddit, Twitter, and YouTube have also significantly contributed to the growth of the gaming communities by enabling faster communication and exposure.

Additionally, gaming news sites and blogs play a key role in keeping gamers informed and connected.

That's a fact. Tiktok helped many game developers to showcase their projects and the positive side is that people are engaging more as the day goes. It's a good way to see games one have played and also gather experience from others.

That's a good point tiktok and similar platforms have really changed the way we perceive gaming because they have promoted games in so many ways and the developers now get more players because those platform are have huge users making them a vital tool for gaming.

There are some sections on Reddit where devs and publishers get to share about their games and progress that they've made so far. This is always commendable and proof that social media has a big role to play when it comes to promoting the game industry.

YouTube is another platform that used to promote games and developers are doing much there too. YouTube and Tiktok have large users when it comes to gaming.

Social media is being used in many ways. From promoting games (by the developers) to game streaming (by the players) social media is connecting with the gaming industry in many ways. There is even a thing called social gaming.

I couldn't agree more with your statement. YouTube has really promoted gaming before tiktok even came into the limelight. I remembered that game trailers and walkthroughs are everywhere on YouTube and I always try to catch up with them back in the day. Now, Tiktok just makes it even shorter and faster but it cannot displace YouTube.

YouTube was there for many decades and as a gamer too, I make use the game trailers and walkthroughs. The fun of Tiktok is making it shorter and faster and that's what I love about it.

Exactly, if there is any social media that goes deep into gaming, it's YouTube. It lreally shaped gaming for sure. I used to spend hours watching walkthroughs when I got stuck in a game, especially some games with extremely difficult levels.

You can say that. There's nothing sweeter and interesting like YouTube but since Tiktok made it faster and simple, many people are going there to ease it very fast.

Exactly. YouTube is still king when it comes to deep gaming content, like walkthroughs and reviews. TikTok makes things quick and entertaining, but I feel like it’s more for casual moments.

I agreed 100% with this. My sister opened an account on YouTube where she showcases everything about her brand and she's really doing well on it.

True, TikTok really made things fast and simple. I’ve noticed a lot of gamers just post clips there instead of full walkthroughs. For me though, YouTube still feels like home for gaming content. I used to watch hours of Dark Souls guides back in the day, and honestly, TikTok can’t replace that long-form detail.

Connection is, people like to watch stuff, and some people are good enough at playing games to the point people want to watch them play.

I have to agree with you. YouTube for the most detailed and walkthrough we wanted while Tiktok is good for short clips, just learn and scroll.

That’s great to hear. YouTube’s a strong platform for brands. With consistency, your sister can grow it even bigger. Glad she’s doing well on it. I recently launched a forum dedicated to vloggers. It's Rising Creators Forum . There, small creators like me can support each other.

That forum idea sounds cool. Small creators really do need places to grow because YouTube and TikTok can feel overcrowded especially for them.

Yeah, she's doing well and I hope that her followers will continue to engage her post.
I will look at your forum because I love to grow and support one another too.

If there's no social media, there won't be gaming. Both social media and gaming work hand in hand, social media helps for marketing, opportunities to meet new friends and also a great community for entertainment.

The connection between video games and social media sites would be 99% promotion and sales. I can think of any better benefits video games gain from social media than those two.

You’re correct, publicity is likely the crucial connection at the moment. Social media acts like the motor that instantly propels games before millions. Trailers, updates, fan creations, all of it circulates quickly.

The game companies sometimes make use of social media influencers to push out their new games. The plan is always to make the game feel popular amongst the core gaming community.

Sometimes, this doesn't matter much. If the game is not worth playing, a lot of gamers would definitely lose faith in it and will spread the news how bad the game is.

Even though social media was created for common people to communicate, it has been growing as a business and marketing platform. Social media is being used to promote games, and it also helps common users to find games, read or watch reviews. etc. One great usage of social media for gaming community is game streaming.
