An engaging narrative with immersive storytelling is very crucial. The Core mobile games need a compelling storyline because that is what will draw players in and keep them invested as well.

That's a good point. I'd also add that a challenging but yet rewarding gameplay mechanics is also what will create immersive experience. The core games need depth and complexity to keep players engaged and motivated as well.

The Depth and complexity you mentioned is true because that’s another essential feature that is needed. There is also need for a transparent monetization system because most of the players want to feel rewarded and not exploited.

The most have features in core mobile games will be a good storyline that can make the game to be more interesting and a monetization features where players can be rewarded and change anything they want.

Every mobile game should have a way to upgrade skills or have incentives for returning players.

I am all out for gameplay mechanics in mobile games. I love good storylines though but a mobile game with right controls that is equally fast would appeal more to me. The core loop and the moment to moment action must be compelling for me to think of a mobile game as being excellent.

Yes, I understand that some games really know how to get you spending your money. I mean, those flashy buttons and rewards make it hard to resist. I guess that’s part of the design though and they know what they’re doing.

This is why so many mobile games are free to play now because they have a way to make players spend a lot of money on their in game microtransactions.
