If you look back at history, there are a lot of historical events that we can say are very good and impressive. The inventions, the sports win, and all of that.

If you are asked to pick one historical event that really got you impressed, which one would you be going with?

The one that I'm going talk about didn't amaze me but broke me into a billon pieces.

It took place on 20th October 2020 at Lekki toll gate Lagos state where the military by the order of government opened fire on the citizens protesting against bad governance and police brutality. Hundreds of people were killed and none of them got justice till date.

It was a really bad day for a lot of citizens residing in Lagos and Nigeria in general. The initial denial by the military made it worse and since then, eberyth has not been the same again.

Well, the military was never held accountable for the crime. There was no formal trial till date. The government of Nigeria doesn't care of the lives of the citizens.

It seems you are talking about the Lekki Toll Gate incident. Such historic events leave scars in our memory.
It's exactly what I was talking about. Right now, they are doing it again using the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to kidnap Martins Vincent Otse who's popularly known as VeryDarkMan who speaks for the people, helps the poor and do so many good things in this failing country. They say it was an arrest but we all know it was a kidnap.

@Heatman So many atrocities are not accountable for especially those in power. They can do anything and get away with it. It's the trend in so many countries.

Well, Verydarkman issue isn't an historical event but since we are talking about politics. I think verydarkman has done a great job in giving back to society out of the money that was donated to his foundation( atleast he didn't keep everything to himself). I’m not really his fan because there are some things I just don't like about him. It's a personal thing though.

Tell me how arresting someone in a kidnapping manner isn't something historical? Taking 5 days before releasing a statement as to why he was kidnapped/arrest wasn't historical?

Tell me anywhere in the Western world where you kidnap someone in the name of arrest and detain them without any statement for 5 days except for cases of national security?

It will be difficult to forget this day. Till date, Nigerians are still mourning for the death of the lost souls. It's really a eye sore and a painful one. Government didn't even care about whatever happened that day.

I would say the introduction of VAR in football. I know some people are still feeling indifferent as a result of the inconsistency in using VAR but I know it will get better.

One historical event thay awes me is the Martin Luther King "I have a dream" speech. I am amazed at how people turned up so much in unity for a common cause. And the power that words spoken well could have on unifying people across divides.

Seriously, the Nigerian government is completely useless. All that death and till today, no one was held accountable for what happened.

I have seen a lot of historical events that amazes me to this day. The reason is that a majority of them still have significant influence on our lives. The events have lessons and insights that can help us learn the intricacies of human history.

We're also seeing this happening in football(the NFL) and Baseball now. They're saying they might replace actual Umpires soon. I hope not.
