What is the most overrated video game? Why?

There are some games that doesn't live up to the hype. For me, it's Fortnite. Don't get me wrong, fortnite is fun but the repetitive gameplay and lack of depth make it overrated. And it's so surprising that Fortnite still getting way too much attention.
 
Fortnite or CoD for me, they always seem to have hard core fans that yap too loudly.
 
NFL2k+/NBA2k+~ series.

I like Football, but I've seen too many get wrapped up in that game playing their favorite real-life characters in football games that won't/don't exist.

I agree with both. I couldn't get into either games, but I have friends that like Fortnite and CoD.
 
Well, most of you might not agree with me but I think GTA is slightly overrated. By the way I have never played GTA and my assumptions are not based on facts.
 
No Man's Sky is another game that was super hyped, but didn't quite live up to player’s expectations. It promised amazing things, but didn't deliver at first. Even with updates, some people still think it's not as great as everyone said.
 
The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim is one game that always looks overrated to me. The gameplay seems very shallow to me. The combats are just too simple, for a game that has been hyped so much and made to be popular.

Fortnite seems to be overly overrated. It is not that it's not entertaining but the hype around it was way too much.
 
Cyberpunk 2077 is going to take it as the most overrated video game for given the hype it had before launch and how buggy it was at launch.
 
I will also say that Genshin Impact is overrated. The graphics and world are great, but the approach to progress in the game takes away all the fun.

Genshin Impact was said to be one of the best games on mobile phone platform. What is it about the progress you weren't impressed with?

Fortnite is over-hyped based in my experience. I mean, the hype it gained surpasses its gameplay and again its dependence on microtransactions is a turn off for me.

I like Genshin Impact. This is one of the few games I play on mobile.
For me the most overrated game is GTA. Perhaps, because I have never played it.

Well, it's a free to play video game which is why the existence of microtransactions being used in the game is understandable.

For as long as they don't make it pay to win game, I'll never have any problems with the use of microtransactions in Fortnite.
 
Battlefield have been overrated to me for a while and the developers are not doing it any favors lately with how bad they are making the game.
