What is the scariest game you have ever played?

Resident Evil 7 stands out as the scariest game I have ever experienced. The menacing rustic mansion and spine-chilling sound effects really crank up the fear factor while playing. What is the scariest game you have ever played?

The video game that had me genuinely scared was Alien Isolation. I mean, as a player, the Xenomorph keeps attacking you and you are almost helpless. They learn your strategies and adapt to counter attack you. Playing the game for the first time, I really felt truly haunted.

Among all the horror games I have played, Dead Space proved to be the scariest one. It stuck in my head for a long time.

I think the Resident Evil games are up there. Even a few scenes in the Last of Us games can make you jump.

Silent Hill franchise is quite high on that chart or scarey video games ever made. Dead Space (Remake) is the best sci-fi horror game I've played as well.
