What is World-Building?

Since childhood, I got the enormous interest in such creation; the creation of the believable worlds that nobody could even imagine to exist. In my attempt to be a good storyteller, I strongly support the concept that world building is elemental to any other aspect of a story.
If I have to go ahead and build a world, I always begin by thinking about the things that make it become real.

I completely agree, world building is such a crucial part of storytelling! When I’m creating a world, I start by focusing on the small details, like how the environment affects the people living there or what the history of that world might be. It’s those elements that make the world feel alive and believable. How do you approach building the cultures and societies within your worlds?
