What makes you decide to get a virtual pet? Do you have any pets in real life?

I have two dogs in real life. I play virtual pet games, because I enjoy training, battling, and getting unique/rare pets.

I become incredibly attached to digital pets whenever I see them. It's one of the reasons why I developed interest in Neopets and Tamagotchi. The virtual pets provide me with entertainment and the pleasure of caring for a pet.

For me, it’s the nostalgia and the thrill of caring for a virtual companion. I do enjoy that sense of responsibility that comes with feeding, training, and nurturing a virtual pet. Also, the thrill of finding new and unique pets, plus the social aspect of interacting with other players add to its appeal.
