What virtual pet sites do you know were closed/shutdown by hackers?

I remember a long time ago on the old VPL there was a member that shared the code of Kronikpets that was hacked. It's how I got into coding, and learned how to code a pet site. The Kronikpets code had all the core features of a standard pet site, and I was able to learn from it.

Monopets was shut down because it was hacked when it was owned by Michael (Carriere Entertainment) due to PHP injections.

Nice to see people who still remember this game. I miss it. I was one of the moderators and one of the most active players. Sadly once the php injection hacks were discovered the end of this game was inevitable. Basically a revolt occurred where mods hacked pretty much every aspect of the website. The message boards were auto-spammed with porn by some of the more devious revolters. I wish that had never happened now but at the time being able to make your own OP items and spawn rare pets into existence was fun. Yes I was one of the people who abused the hacks, however I wasn't one of the ones who abused it to the degree of crashing the entire site, that I can remember. Not sure how to feel about the owner, he was nice enough to make me a mod but he rarely answered his MSN messenger back in the day. He always seemed to have something else more important going on from my recollection. I always hoped Michael would bring the website back online with better security but it never became a functional website again. Rip Monopets we are sorry for abusing you. =(

I have heard about Panfu but I didn't play the game. I didn't know the reason why it was shutdown.

Fortunately, I haven't been a user of any particular virtual pet site that was hacked which led to its shutdown. It would be a serious heartbreak for anyone playing on the site.

It is not a pleasant experience to belong to a pet site that got hacked. You will be worried about some of your details being there in the open.

Subeta have also had hacking problems. These sites had to face some problems regarding the security and security was solved to keep the players safe.

Panfu was the virtual pet site that was hit most by hacking. It was a very large virtual pet site that used to have pet pandas. I was part of the site at the time that hacking incident happened. I woke up one morning to login into the site only to face a blank dark screen. It was later announced by the developers that the site was hacked beyond their reach.
