Sonic Retro is the website I've been browsing the longest. I've been on there since 2008 and continue to log in at least every other day. I miss TitansGo.net, it was a Teen Titans forum I used to visit all the time. I also miss Glitch City forums, yeah the website still exists in some form (and I was going to be the one who was in charge of the hosting for the new wiki but I got cold feet and overwhelmed so other people took over...) but they only have a discord server now which I'm not really into.

Megaupload is one which I'm still missing till date. I'm only able to cope without it because there many good alternatives now.
I remember Megaupload—I used to use it as well. Zippyshare was another one.

I miss Yahoo Answers; I used to visit it all the time. It was replaced by Quora and Reddit, though. It was one of the first ‘ask a question, receive an answer’ types of websites.

I also liked visiting Digg and StumbleUpon, which, unfortunately, are no longer around either.

Freewebs was also nice—you could build your own website with free hosting.

How can I ever forget Yahoo Answers? It was great back in those days. I never believed it would be relegated to the background by Reddit. I still miss the site, although even if it were still around, AI and ChatGPT would have also killed it off.

Google I think holds the reign. Next would be Facebook. VPL is up there for me too. I've been a member for over 20 years I think.

@cpvr when did you first start Virtual Pet List?
I originally started VPL on November 4th 2004 as a directory of virtual pet sites. I was 14 when I launched VPL.

Same here. Yahoo Answers’s departure had a slight impact on the rise of Reddit and Quora, but I think if it was still around today, Chatgpt would be using it as a dedicated source for a lot of their content.

Isn't Reddit now doing the same thing with using AI/ChatGPT too. Soon, everything will have to key in with ChatGPT or be seen as it's not serious.

A lot of forums (Forum Promotion, The Admin Zone, Digital Point, etc.)

Many blogs like Copyblogger, Problogger, and others.

Been with my hosting service for over 15 years,

I have been a member of t football forums for about 13 years now. The two sites are Bluemoon and the other one is Red Cafe. There are the two football sites that I go to enjoy football banters and discussions at its finest.

I was living on the east coast at 14, moved to Texas at 15, then I met my daughter's mom at 16. After that, we had our daughter when I was 18, lmao. I was playing baseball from 11-13, so I was pretty locked in on my game and playing sports then.🤣🤣

The east coast was pretty cold during the winter, so I spent a lot of time inside, which helped me build VPL during that time frame. It was pretty cool how I built it 4 days prior to my 15th birthday.

Reddit's answers is diffferent than Chatgpt as it's surfacing their own content where Chatgpt is pulling answers from every other website. If reddit was pulling content from Wikipedia, other forums and other networks it would be quite similar to Chatgpt. Facebook's system is also using their own platforms, but they're pulling from other websites too.

You started being naughty at 16 😂..bad boy 😂 😂. It was in 2008 I had my first girlfriend and get laid 😂 😂..I will never forget what that felt like.

It's smart with how Reddit set up their own if that's the case because if it was just like ChatGPT, a lot of people will be turned off.

I enjoy watching football and have been looking for forums where I can join to have discussions on it. I will surely check out the two forums that you mentioned above.
