What websites have you been visiting the longest? Are there any you’ve been a member of for more than 6–10 years? What websites did you used to visit frequently but now miss as they’re no longer around?
I remember Megaupload—I used to use it as well. Zippyshare was another one.Megaupload is one which I'm still missing till date. I'm only able to cope without it because there many good alternatives now.
How can I ever forget Yahoo Answers? It was great back in those days. I never believed it would be relegated to the background by Reddit. I still miss the site, although even if it were still around, AI and ChatGPT would have also killed it off.I remember Megaupload—I used to use it as well. Zippyshare was another one.
I miss Yahoo Answers; I used to visit it all the time. It was replaced by Quora and Reddit, though. It was one of the first ‘ask a question, receive an answer’ types of websites.
I also liked visiting Digg and StumbleUpon, which, unfortunately, are no longer around either.
Freewebs was also nice—you could build your own website with free hosting.
When they deactivated Yahoo messenger, it made me to stop being any Yahoo products including their Yahoo mail.Yahoo messenger should definitely count as one. Even with so many other chat messengers now, they will never compare to how I felt using Yahoo messenger years ago.
I know about Microsoft Outlook for a long time but never got to use it. It's as good as Gmail though.Well, besides my own, I would say, yahoo for news and outlook for email.
I originally started VPL on November 4th 2004 as a directory of virtual pet sites. I was 14 when I launched VPL.Google I think holds the reign. Next would be Facebook. VPL is up there for me too. I've been a member for over 20 years I think.
@cpvr when did you first start Virtual Pet List?
Same here. Yahoo Answers’s departure had a slight impact on the rise of Reddit and Quora, but I think if it was still around today, Chatgpt would be using it as a dedicated source for a lot of their content. How can I ever forget Yahoo Answers? I was busy chasing girls around when I was 14 years old 😂 😂 😂I originally started VPL on November 4th 2004 as a directory of virtual pet sites. I was 14 when I launched VPL.
Isn't Reddit now doing the same thing with using AI/ChatGPT too. Soon, everything will have to key in with ChatGPT or be seen as it's not serious.Same here. If it wasn't for VPL I probably would've never got into making websites, and learning how to code.Incredible! VPL is really this old, and I never even thought of that? I was thinking it is even less than a decade.

I was living on the east coast at 14, moved to Texas at 15, then I met my daughter's mom at 16. After that, we had our daughter when I was 18, lmao. I was playing baseball from 11-13, so I was pretty locked in on my game and playing sports then.🤣🤣I was busy chasing girls around when I was 14 years old 😂 😂 😂

The east coast was pretty cold during the winter, so I spent a lot of time inside, which helped me build VPL during that time frame. It was pretty cool how I built it 4 days prior to my 15th birthday.
Reddit's answers is diffferent than Chatgpt as it's surfacing their own content where Chatgpt is pulling answers from every other website. If reddit was pulling content from Wikipedia, other forums and other networks it would be quite similar to Chatgpt. Facebook's system is also using their own platforms, but they're pulling from other websites too.
I have been a member of t football forums for about 13 years now. The two sites are Bluemoon and the other one is Red Cafe. There are the two football sites that I go to enjoy football banters and discussions at its finest.
