What's a reasonable price to pay for virtual pet art?

Building a pet site requires a lot of art, and graphics.

What's prices are reasonable to pay for art on virtual pet sites? Is there a standard price, or are some artists more expensive than others?
 
Depends on the artwork and the person who did it, some pics are better than others and thus cost more.

It'll all depend on the style you want.

You could go minimalistic and get something for $5 on Fiverr, support a local artist and sit down with them to draw something out at their rates, or pay $100~ for something totally unique (on Fiverr).

If you're just beginning, and need proof of concept that the game will work first, I would recommend free and using ChatGPT or some other image rendering.

Then, as the site gets more traction, you could even get free artwork from the community on how the new characters should look.

As for me, I was a graphic designer but kept it minimal. I had a member who wanted to add shadowing, etc., to the artwork and turned what I had into something amazing. They did it for the love of the game, and I ended up with free artwork in the end too.
 
I think it depends on the quality of art work and the originality of the art work. I wouldn't consider paying even $5 for an art that was generated by AI but I might be willing to spend $50 for hand painted art.

It all boils down on the style and what you want done, but for pet images, you will likely spend around 40 to 100 dollars per image.


For items, you will probably pay around 10 to 25 dollars per item.

Rates vary since each artist sets their own prices.

It's very easy for anyone to make use of AI to generate whatever they want as long as they know the right prompt to use for it. This is the main reason why I will never be interested in paying anyone to do that for me when I can do it.
 
The prices for virtual pet art can vary a lot depending upon the experience, style of the artist and complexity of the piece. For instance, I have seen custom pet portraits sell anywhere between $5 to $50 or even more.

Yeah, that's very correct. I've seen some of them being sold on SEOClerks. BinstuffArt offers some of his custom digital pet portraits for $5.

It'll also be very frowned upon with a lot of pet site players though. Most players don't agree with AI generated art and they'll more than likely not play a pet site that's designed with a ton of AI-generated graphics. Especially since pet sites have thrived for years from actual artists, writers and developers. I don't see AI graphics ever having a large impact in the industry.

It's not just in virtual pet genre a lot of people frown at the use of AI in doing thing but generally in other things. It's even very annoying when those who use try to stupidly justify what they are doing like the so called German AI art designer 😂. They run into a brickwall sooner than they expect it.
 
Personally I wouldn't play a site made with AI. Not only is it hard enough to find decent sites to work for but getting paid what you're worth.

Playing such pet site game made with AI is complete waste of time. I would never try it. In fact, any content that's 100% AI made isn't for me.
 
We cannot have an overall price tag on virtual pet art because it has to depend on the quality and the details of the art. I have seen some users pay between $5 to $20 for custom art while some pay more.

Yeah, that's very correct. I completely agree with you. The value of any particular virtual pet art should be determined by its quality, rarity and uniqueness.
 
The cost of art for virtual pet sites varies, It depends on how experienced the artist is and how detailed the artwork needs to be. There’s no set price, so it’s a good idea to look at different artists and compare their prices and work.
