There are times when some of these minor skills are pretty important and can make a lot of difference.

For example, I have learnt that being the one who handles their emotions better in certain situations makes a whole lot of difference.

To stay calm and composed when a lot of people around you are panicking about a situation could make them look at you as the boss of the group I'm future situations. I've learnt about this and try to apply it in certain situations. What other skills do others think are pretty useless, but are very important in life and interactions?

Refusing impulsive buying when you're rich is a big skill. A lot of people might say since the person have money, he can afford to buy whatever he wants but unfortunately money runs out when being overspent.

A skill to deal with anyone who is tough dealing with, not always eash to do.

For me, I think listening sounds boring but it’s powerful. I remembered meetings we had where everyone talks and nobody listens. So the people who actually listen stand out fast. You catch details others miss and avoid mistakes.

You are right. One should be very careful how they spend money because making this money is not easy at all. So, avoiding impulsive purchases is very important, if one wants to make it big.

The ability to sense the mood in a place at a time is one skill that I think is very vital to have. It looks mundane and unimportant. But the ability to discern the mood in a room would help you know when to talk, what to talk so that you won't sound insensitive.

Knowing when to talk and when to keep quiet is crucial especially when you are in a room. People should figure out how to handle such situations because to me, the way you behave in a setting says a lot about you.

If someone haven't been broke like a church rat, they wouldn't understand the implications of being left with nothing. I take my financial life too serious.

Some will call you stingy, but I don't care as long as I don't end up spending recklessly. It is not the right move when one makes more and end up spending that much without showing what they used the money for.

I consider smiling a skill that not many have. Some wouldn't want to find it easy to smile simply because it is not a skill that they've developed. Anyone who finds it easy to smile has a skill that is rare in many people.

I would say the skill of being able to read the room at any point in time. This helps you to know when to speak because it matters more than what you say.

It is of great importance that we screen what is happening at every given moment before we open our mouths to say anything. The fact for it is that whatever we say won't be taken back again.

Listening skills.
These days most people are interested only in talking, no body wants to listen.
