Social media demonstrates positive and negative connections within relationships according to my opinion. People find it simpler to maintain contact with distant relatives and childhood friends through social media channels. Excessive social media engagement can also results in extensive feelings of loneliness and addiction to the screen. When we talk about social media, does it have particular rules and limits how you use them?

Social media can have an effect on relationships if those allow it to effect their relationships.

I find it better to contact friends and family through calling & texting instead of social media.

If you are using social media platforms in a way that it will negatively impact your relationship, that is exactly what is going to do. It is why you have to decide how you want to use social media sites.

Well, social media generates two contrasting things on relationships. It could be used to maintain distant relationships but the negative impact is associated with prolonged usage which can cause isolation. So, it's very neccessary to establish boundaries in your social media activities.

This is only going to be something those who are in long distance relationship should be concerned about. This is because I know personally that I will never be in a romantic long distance relationship with anyone.

A lot of people struggle with communication even being in a close relationship. I wonder how it's going to be when they are in a long distance relationship?

I understand where you're coming from. Social media could be a very useful medium for people in a long distance relationship and even for couples who live together can use it but when it becomes excessive, it can breed a feeling of isolation and mistrust. This is why you need to limit your screen time.

There is a way someone is going to use social media platforms and it isolate them even when they are living together. This is why excessive usage of social media platforms is not really healthy for relationships.

Social media and promoting fake life goes hand in hand. Believe everything you see or read on social media sites at your own risks. It's why when I see some stupid people measuring their relationship and partners based off what they see on social media sites, I feel like cursing them out.

I keep a lot of my relationships away from social media. I have seen how social media contributed to destroying relationships and I wouldn't want any of that for myself at all. It is best to live and enjoy my relationship life low-key instead of bringing it to social media for validation.

I’ve also noticed that some couples start joint social media accounts, and over time, a few of them get pretty popular, but eventually break up. It makes me wonder if some of those breakups stem from the pressures and attention that come with social media fame.

Then you’ve got the couples who make comedy or skit-style content to boost their reach. While that can be entertaining, I’ve always believed that relationships do better when they’re kept more private. It’s totally fine to let people know who you're with, but the deeper parts like your home life, your neighborhood, or personal dynamics should stay off the internet.

Raising awareness about love, boundaries, or even funny couple moments is great, but, the most solid relationships grow when they aren’t constantly exposed to outside noise. Unfortunately, social media tends to invite a lot of that noise, not all of it good.

Depends on the couple, for me and my gf, we're big on forums and discord, so it doesn't matter to us.

Overuse of social media is bad. I believe that social media will be healthy and unhealthy in relationships depending on how you use it. I don't post my personal affairs on social media and I don't let it take the time I am to spend with my family.
