How long have you had your accounts? What's the oldest pet site account you currently use/play?

I’ve had my account on Marapets for 20 years, but I’ve been playing off and on ever since. My account on Subeta is 15 years old, and my account on Flight Rising is 11 years old. I also have an account on Goatlings that’s 12 years old.

23 years, on Neopets, July 17, 2001 was my startdate and I still have my very first neopet Ophelia94 and she's still a normal blue peophin. I log on like once or twice every two weeks but I don't actively play it anymore.

It’s been about 2 years since I actively played Neopets and got on to play the games, stock shops, and level my pets. For my favorite era it was probably just the years between 1999-2009, they had a lot more story building back then, we had some of the first developments with the fairies, the pets available we’re still expanding and nothing was too hard or too easy to get, it was when I felt the game was the most balanced and you had to build your wealth and collection over time. While I love being able to dress up my pets, once neopets got sold for the second time and to Nickelodeon and they started making a hard push at Cash Shop items and then even more strict forums, is about when I started playing less and less. I loved when guilds were active, everyone was so helpful to each other learning how to code the guilds and profiles, forums went down hill when it became almost all prefilled messages for awhile so you couldn’t have much conversation, so I know a lot of my original friends left during that point. That and when bottled fairies were retired so no more quest gifts from them or points and no more change at paintbrush or colors or buffs from them, also had a lot of players leave because it was fun to hoard those for a bit if you just played actively for awhile, and then sell them if you needed neopoints and already had a fairly leveled pet or two to run the Colli with.

What about you, did you play for a long time and actively? What was your favorite era or time period when you did? : )

I have played a few virtual pet sites for several years also. There was one site that I became addicted to for about 5 years I guess. The continuous updates, the new features and the way it is engaging keeps attracting me.

I started playing virtual pet games at age 9. And I have been doing so for more than a decade. The first virtual pet game account I had was on Neopets. That account has existed for more than a decade now.

I played Flight Rising so many times. Its interesting breeding mechanics and the community events kept me addicted with new content literally all the time.

It is quite impressive for a pet game to be around for 20 years. That is quite uncommon for a pet site to last that long. That shows that it replicates the real life pets characteristics and it probably has a supportive community because longevity is very rare in virtual pet games.

Neopets is the oldest virtual pet site game I've played. It have been about 18-20 years I created my first account on the site. Marapets is the next I've played longest, and it's followed by Flight Rising.

I think the oldest pet site I have seen is Stampy. I think it came around since 2004 and that would be more than 20 years by now.

I am certain that you are referring to Subeta, which opened up in 2004.

However, a Stampy "game" does exist. It contains two famous pets like Baranby and the Wolf pack that you can obtain by playing through Stampy's lovely World directly in Minecraft.

Currently, Neopets is one of the oldest browser based pet games, followed by Powerpets, and then Subeta & Marapets.

Neopets opened up in 1999, where Powerpets launched back in 2002, and Marapets opened up in 2005.

I've been on Neopets here & there for about 21 years~ Webkins roughly 20, just not very active- if we count that.
Joined Mweor & Gryffs in 2009, making those accounts right at 17 years old! I had to peek at Flight Rising, but that one's just turned 13~
It's super neat to see the games progress & grow- especially in such variety!
