Over the years many domain domain extensions have been released from .forum, .community, .biz, .tk, and many others, however, what's your go to domain extension? Do you prefer to get a domain with the .net or .com extension is available or do you prefer to get a domain extension that's not so widely used like .forum or .community?

Personally for me, I always opt for the .com extension as it's my favorite and I'm kind of old school when it pertains to domain names. I will also opt for a .net extension if it's available though.

How about you?

For my projects, I usually secure both .com and .net so I can have the top comments.

For me, I always go for “.com” first. We can't argue that it's not the king of domain extensions, no matter what. Anytime I see “.net” or “.info,” it might look off, but that doesn't mean that they are not also good lol. But honestly, with how expensive .com is these days, I’ve used “.co” and “.xyz” for some side projects.

.info and .net don't always give the best informations especially on research or important notes. My favourite domain has been .com for over many years now, I always get the right information.

The dot com domain is always the best for branding. It is like people always type dot Com by default whenever they even remember a domain name. I might go for dot net when the dot Com is not available. But the other ones don't appeal to me. They always seem unprofessional to me.

I would always pick a dot com as my first choice. However, I do like some of the newer extensions because it's easier to find a good name.

I usually go with one that fits the name of the site. For example I'm currently using a .ing for a Sonic Rom Hacking community called "SonicHack.ing". I do have a few .com and .net domains too but I like having creative names lol. Some of those weird tld are expensive though.

“.com” is still the number one for me because people trust it faster and it even ranks better. But the .com domains are very scarce now. If the one I want to use isn't available, I just go for .org or .net.

The first domain I bought was an xyz domain. I bought it for my personal blog. Over the years I have bought many domain extensions, dot com, dot net, dot info, dot xyz, dot online, dot store, dot art, you name it. But my current favorite happens to be dot com. My all sites are dot com.

I don't have any domains but if I ever register a domain it would be dot com.
