Which pet games/sims have the best breeding?

Discussion in 'Virtual Pets Chat' started by Kesstryl, Aug 3, 2013.

  1. Ever since Star Wars Galaxies introduced me to the idea of creating genetically altered pets, I've been carried away with various pet games that had wonderful breeding programs. Some of the ones I've played with good breeding outcomes are Happy Pets (facebook game), Ovipets, and Khimeros. I'm wondering what other pet games have really good breeding where the outcomes depend on the combinations of the parents color, traits, and genetics.
  2. I still love the original Petz 5 & 6 :) the breeding system was cool.
  3. I like the breeding system on Flight Rising. Its quite easy to understand and get used to.
  4. Felisfire has an awesome system based strongly in real life but it can be complicated.
  5. Complexity doesn't scare me, I might start an account and give it a try. I'm definitely interested in the lab and genetic aspect I'm seeing on their features page.

Do you have a referral I can give you credit for?

  6. I enjoy Flight Rising's breeding but I am after a more complex system c:
Going to check out sites posted here
  7. Me too. I want to try out Felis Fire sometimes but I feel daunted at the scope of their system. xD
  8. I'm currently playing Khimeros as my main breeding game, and I do enjoy their system very much. Definitely more complex than Flight Rising, but that's why I like it. The art is beautiful and the layering system for traits is unlike any I've seen in other games that have breeding. Still, I'm definitely going to try Felisfire, that looks right up my alley.
  9. If you like horses, one to check out is Equine-ranch and its predecessor Vintage. Both follow real to life genetics in horses (although Vintage is much older and not as accurate due to its age). On ER, your import horses are born from source parents, and on vintage they are randomly generated colours/patterns, but from there you can use real genetics to breed what ever colours you desire (Palomino Friesians, Buckskin arabs, or you can strive to breed correct colours).

As well as colours, you can also show your horses in a variety of disciplines by breeding for certain traits in your horses. I ended up with a stable full of steeplechasing Welsh Mountain Ponies.

ER is a lot more full on than Vintage, but it is also more frequently updated with new genetics and improvements. Vintage is much more relaxed and overall easier. The images are also getting a makeover so each type has a different image.

EDIT: Was linked to this page which has a great overview of ER

  10. FF is awesome, but it can be VERY complicated. If anyone of you join Felis, you can contact me via my ID: 11333 and I'll mentor you to help you understand everything if you need it. I love the site and if you want a complex system of breeding that offers you totally unique kit-customization then this is your site.

You can see your kits before they're born after you reach a breeding score of 5
(You've had 5 kits born in your nest.) and input "DNA" at breeding score 50 to change the appearance of your kits until they are either born or you are satisfied with the result. The feli below is one of my custom feli that I designed.

There you are! X3 Sorry for taking so long to reply. I have been busy and haven't logged in.

So said, if you let me know your ID number I'll clone this feli for you:

  11. Reptile Breeder Game is based off real world mechanics in reptiles. I used to play their ball pythons all the time (I breed those IRL and they're SUPER fascinating).
  12. So I went to register, and apparently I already had. Must have been a really long time ago, so sorry about not being able to give your referral credit :( Well, I'm Kesstryl there, not sure why I didn't follow through with trying this out. I might have registered and then forgot about it.
  13. Oooh! Have you tried Aramii yet? Or Lioden? =3 Aywas is pretty great too, in its own way.
  14. So this form convinced me to check out felisfire, and apparently I already had an account as well. #693 if anyone is interested. The site is interesting I don't really remember it that well, I must not have played it for long. But I did have two of my eggs hatched and managed to get them back to adult age but there's no way I can induce breeding, so I just have to wait for random chance which is kind of slow. And the site does seem fun, but the economy is pretty bad, I have a ton of items - but items are pretty much worthless. So not really sure how I will go about making money.

Also I tried Aramii a while ago and remember liking it, but I will have to check it out again. I can't even remember why I quit so it would be interesting to check out. I've started playing Lioden a little, but not really sure about it yet.
