Which retro console had the best library of games?

There has never been a more fantastic game library than that of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and Street Fighter II were just a few of the iconic titles in the SNES game line-up, which really was phenomenal and still stands its ground today.

I personally think the Sega genesis has a better library, but I was a Sega kid and Sonic is my favorite gaming franchise. SNES does have good games though!

There are argument between the Sega Genesis and SNES platforms. The Genesis platformer has great games like Sonic, Streets of Rage and Rocket Knight which are considered as good games. The SNES delivered outstanding RPG content like Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, Fantasy VI amongst other wonderful titles. But I think the genesis console has the best games.

Well, I'm with you on that for sure, Genesis was far superior. TheStreets of Rage and Rocket Knight are some iconic games that even hold up till today. But of course, everyone always forgot about some other gems like Phantasy Star, ToeJam & Earl, and Gunstar Heroes.

The PlayStation 2. No other retro console had the same combination of quantity, quality, and variety. It had legendary exclusives like Metal Gear Solid 3, Shadow of the Colossus, Final Fantasy X, and God of War, plus deep third-party support covering every genre. Whether you wanted RPGs, survival horror, platformers, or arcade-style racers, the PS2 had it all. Even today, its library holds up better than most.

The answers to this will most likely subjective based on which platform gamers liked more. I would pick from RPGs with SNES and PS1 to be the retro console with best game library.

So true! The PS2 is an excellent choice for players. Those games are hard to resist. Players can explore a wide range of prominent titles. The Nintendo 64 also earned my interest as well because its exclusives titles.

I really liked the Nintendo GameCube was a good one. The GameCube and the Switch are right up there together. I like the library of games for both systems.
