It's time to face it because video games can be super addictive. I keep wondering , what makes them so hard to put down? I think it's the thrill in the competition and immersive storytelling. Games like Fortnite and Minecraft have me hooked. The constant challenges are enough to keep you engaged.

What about you?

I read that games can tap into our psychology, causing the release of dopamine and endorphins and making us feel good. As a result, it would be so hard to put down.

A lot of people used games for relaxation. So, it becomes a go-to for escape from stress..that could actually make it our companions.

I was addicted to video games some 7 to 8 years ago. The reason was that it was the only release that I had from every form of mental pressure. Anything that makes one to feel good has the tendency to be highly addictive. That's why people easily get addicted to video games.

It kills boredom, and super fun if you find the right game. I play games to escape reality.

This is because there's a purpose behind each and every video game developed and released. It's a service which solves a problem and as long that problem exist, games will always be valued and addictive.

The addiction to video games is caused by the fun we derived and its rewarding nature. When you win or pass a level you feel fulfilled and it's a thing to be proud of. There are games with nice plots. Those kinds of games offer us ways to get away from stress and that's another benefit of video games.

Exactly. When it's possible to use video games in managing peoples depression shows how much of importance video games can play a role in people's lives.

Video games are entertaining and could be a distraction from life challenges . And when you go past a stage, you feel good about it. That is the reason why people just cannot stop playing it over and over again.

There is a sense of accomplishment I feel when I’m playing a video game with a good narrative. They have the power to make us feel that we are accomplishing something.

Video games are addictive because it's made for entertainment and fun. I am not playing games because I'm so good with it but it helps me to be happy and relax as well. This made some people to become addicted to it in order to escape the reality of life or to make themselves happy.

I became addicted to playing games that I started neglecting some of my responsibilities and the reason why it was that way is that I find games as soothing to the mind and soul and also something that I could use to forget the pains that the world brings.

That good part of playing video games because you want to have a nice time is what I always hope to see. It is one of the best times because it makes sense that anyone playing video games ends up getting value for the time spent.

It was from this good part of playing video games that one can start to get addictive. Having nice times and fun when playing games is very good but you don't allow it to control over you.

Video games are very addictive because they make people feel good. It is one activity that suspends all the worries that people carry and keeps their minds at ease. That's why many people wanting more of that feeling would always go back to play video games.

That's correct. When people wanted to escape the reality of life, they choose video games. In there, you have a free world where you are happy, having fun and being entertained as well. But it's never okay to be addictive to such.

Playing video games is a hobby and a means of entertainment and relaxation for most people. This is why they become a very addictive activity because it makes people feeling good.

I can perfectly relate. When I play video games, I always feel some sort of autonomy that I don't feel as much in real life. You put in efforts and you see instant results. That feeling of competence always makes me hooked anytime I play a video game, that I want to stretch into long hours playing.

Absolutely! That immediate gratification sensation is something real life doesn't consistently offer. In games, you invest effort and boom, you get a reward just immediately.

Video games are addictive because they tap into how the brain responds to reward, progress, and challenge. They use clear goals, instant feedback, and frequent rewards, which keep players engaged and motivated.

They are addictive because they feed your desire to escape into an imaginative world, where you can experience everything that you normally cannot do in real life.

This explains the way I feel when I play horror games such as Bloodborne. I feel super good when I achieve certain milestones in the game.

Video games are addictive because they combine challenge, reward, and feedback in a way that engages the brain’s pleasure and motivation systems. Progression, achievements, social interaction, and immersive experiences keep players returning, sometimes overriding other priorities or time awareness.
