Despite the popularity of multiplayer games, many players still favor single-player experiences. Is this preference about storytelling, control over pace, or avoiding competitive pressure?

People who are more into gaming for socialization are playing multiplayer games, however, I usually play single player game. I believe it is individual choices of players, what they play or choose to play is entirely their preference.

I'm super competitive and I am a sore loser. I don't like to lose so I tend to stay away from multiplayer games since I know I would probably rage. I should work on that but it's hard to get over something that's been ingrained into my brain since I was a kid.

In single player games, the player is the main character. There are no other persons part of the game to distract them. them. That exclusivity can make gaming more immersive.

single player games can usually deliver a more structured experience, both from a gameplay and story standpoint. there are a lot of unique obstacles to game design if you're designing around multiplayer.
unless you're only into competitive or team based games, i'm not sure why this is even a question lol. theyre two different things.

You want to be in charge, to play at your pace, to enjoy every thing about the game. It is not always easy to achieve that with multi player games so that is the reason you see people pick quality single player games whenever the opportunity arise.
