We have been hearing about smart glasses for a long time now. And it seemed like a tech breakthrough that would become a big hit.

Why hasn't smart glasses gone mainstream till now? What could be the likely limiting factor to mainstream adoption of smart glasses?
 
Smart glasses haven’t gone mainstream due to privacy concerns, limited battery life, bulky designs, and unclear everyday usefulness.

Some smart glasses have been doing well, I'd say. I just don't think a lot of people want them though. Some companies want them to replace smartphones in the near future, but I don't see that ever happening. The price point is also not quite affordable.

Smart glasses are also used in the gaming industry.
 
I think they cost too much and risk too much damage, I think we need stronger materials to make them useful.
