Dont come home until you save the world

Don’t Come Home Until You Save the World might look like one of those nostalgic throwbacks to the golden age of JRPGs. You know type that have the whole “save the world before bedtime” routine. But let’s be clear: this isn’t some poetic tribute or deep homage. It’s a game that exists because the developer grew up on JRPGs and still loves them, and wanted to make something that jokes about everything they are and aren’t.

It’s not the second coming of Chrono Trigger. It’s not going to change your life or make you cry pixelated tears. This is satire. It’s me making a game filled with tropes, dumb quests, over-the-top dialogue, and inside jokes only people who lived through the PS1 era will fully get.

You’ll start out helping someone find a missing cat and accidentally discover the world’s ending by dinner. That’s the energy. It’s not trying to be serious, but it is trying to be fun.

This whole project is one big “what if I actually made that RPG I used to daydream about in class?” moment.
