Discuss your favorite Pokemon Games

Are there any long-time Pokémon fans around here?

I’ve been into the Pokémon franchise since the very beginning, back in 1998 when Pokémon Red and Blue launched on the Game Boy. That’s where it all started for me. The games pulled me in fast, and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Beyond the main series, I’ve also been deep into the Pokémon Trading Card Game over the years collecting, playing, and watching how the TCG meta evolved generation after generation. From gym leaders to shinies, anime arcs to card pulls, it’s been a huge part of my gaming life.

Would love to hear how others got started, were you more into the handheld games, the anime, or the cards? What was your first starter Pokémon?

I love Pokemon it's my second favorite gaming franchise! I've been a fan of the series since 1999 when I first watched the anime with my best friend. He also gave me a bunch of cards and eventually gave me his old brick gameboy with a copy of Yellow. His mom accused me of stealing Yellow version from him... so I had to give it back. :\ I eventually got Blue version shortly after though. Generation 3 is my favorite, I love the secret bases and the contests. Plus gen 3 is the generation that natures were created in.

What’s your favorite pokemon character?

Mine is Pikachu 🙂
How about yours? 😀

My favorite human character is definitely Red from the Gen 1 games. I also thought it was cool to see his character come to life in a animated spin off called Pokemon Chronicles. As for my favorite Pokemon, it's Incineroar. I feel like the internet hates on Inineroar too much... I like it's design and it's typing too!

The Pokemon franchise gained immense popularity in the late 90s and early 2000s, primarily due to its captivating gameplay mechanics.

The game revolves around catching and collecting different Pokemon creatures, each with unique attributes and powers. The enveloping game worlds provide an engaging and challenging experience for the players. The battles in Pokemon require you to use your strategic thinking skills and the ability to select the right Pokemon creature for the situation.

Winning battles involves an understanding of the attributes and strengths of the creatures, as well as the capability to make the best tactical decisions.

Which Pokemon creature is your favorite?

Loved the games, I think Platinum was the last one I played. Need to find time to play the recent games, even if daunting to catch so many Pokémon lol.
If I'm not mistaken, I last played Pokemon Gold. I didn't finish the game since catching Pokemon is tiresome. LOL. Where did you play it? Game console or mobile?

My favorite is Charizard but I never played the new scarlett or violet. I want to play that sometime. I played arceus and it wasn't very fun for me. The fact that it wasn't an official pokemon game. Though I did play sword and shield and that was amazing and lets go pikachu.

I could never get into the earlier Pokemon games no matter how hard I tried when I was younger. Since Pokemon Go and Pokemon Unite on the Nintendo Switch released, I have found these two games have been ones I have enjoyed a lot.

My favourite Pokemon's would have to be Pikachu and Charizard.

I never really got into Pokemon, The game just doesn't appeal to me. But my kids love it and have almost every Pokemon game for the Nintendo Switch.

I've never played any of the games. The closest for me would be Monster Hunter Stories:

Yes, I love Pokemon! I play Pokemon GO daily! I used to play the older games when I had the systems. My favorite Pokemon is hard to tell, but I think Machamp looks pretty cool!

I still play Pokemon, it's my second favorite gaming franchise next to Sonic the Hedgehog. But yes I did play it back then and I still go back and replay Gen 1 quite often. I'm actually listening to the Drought music from Ruby right now as I type this up, it's my favorite Pokemon game actually. xD

I love Pokemon, it's my second favorite gaming franchise! Generation 3 is my favorite gen, but I really enjoyed Gen 5 and 7 too. I don't think I'll ever stop playing Pokemon.

Pokemon helped shape me who I am today. I'm not into the IV/EV part of it, but I love the games regardless. My favorite Pokemon is Banette! My goal is to get every official Banette item as well as get a custom tattoo on my left arm, where he would be close to my heart!! I also would love to commission a life-size plush of my first Banette, Puppet.

I'm even working on creating a Banette army on Pokemon Scarlet. My main email mentions Banette. My Pokemon Go mentions Banette. I just really, really love Banette!

But also, yea, I like Pokemon. I have games from Gen 1 through today's (Gen 9?). And by that, I mean I have OG games, from Gameboy to Switch.

I have become addicted to Pokémon that stopping would be a very difficult choice for me as a person. It is just a good franchise that is focused on building quality and games that are just focused on the people.

A new trailer has been released for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet for Nintendo Switch 2 has been released on the Nintendo Today.

A side by side comparison has been released showing the differences in the graphics and gameplay.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will be available relatively soon!

Anyone ever played it during its Peak? what were your favorite games ? I Played Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver Crystal, Ash Gray, Ruby and Saphire. i probably missed a few but i was a big pokemon gamer.
I played Pokemon during it's peak, but I don't think Pokemon's legacy and popularity has died down in anyway. It's still one of the biggest franchises in the world.

I also played the original games on Gameboy. There were a lot of fun and kept me busy. However, I'm glad that there's new pokemon games on the horizon now. The new games should be awesome!

I honestly never played Pokemon go though.
