Xanje is currently expanding its team and is looking for pattern artists.

What is your job as a pattern artist?

You would be creating the patterns that go onto our game’s pet models. These include natural-looking and themed/seasonal style patterns–anything that you would prefer to do as an artist. While we provide rough guidelines of what needs to be done, you will have a lot of creative freedom on how the end result will look.

What do I get?

This is a volunteer position. However, you will receive in-game rewards such as red stone and coins for every pattern you create. You will also be credited on the pattern’s library page as the artist.

Requirements

- Working knowledge of digital art in a program that can export PSDs, such as Photoshop, GIMP, MediBangPaintPro, Fire Alpaca, PaintTool SAI, or Krita.

- A basic grasp of the skill needed to create patterns that look convincingly like they are part of a three-dimensional animal (such as the existing patterns we have).

- Free time to commit to producing patterns on a somewhat regular basis. This is a volunteer role, so there are no strict quotas, but this team is only for those who intend to contribute regularly. If the team isn’t a good fit, remember that anyone can submit pattern ideas using this page.

- Discord account for communication with the team.

- Willingness to learn, take constructive feedback, and cooperate with others. (Those who create drama will be promptly removed from the team–again, you do not have to be on the team in order to submit patterns!).

Where do I apply?

To apply for the pattern team, you must submit two or more examples of your pattern work. The patterns can be for any pet models, but you must include all growth stages. We want to see your art at its best!

The full application with more information can be found here: Library > Pattern Artistry > Apply.

We look forward to seeing what you can do!
