I have played a couple of virtual pets, but Petz: Dogz 5 made by Ubisoft is the one that I didn't know that it was that good. I am still surprised that it didn't as much attention as it would have.

Is there any virtual pet that you've played that is underrated?

One virtual pet game that I think is underrated is Moshi Monsters.
Although it was quite popular in its heyday, it doesn't always get the recognition it deserves compared to other virtual pet games. The game offers a unique blend of pet care, puzzles, and educational content, creating an engaging and enriching experience for players. Its charming art style, diverse range of activities, and community aspects make it a standout that often flies under the radar.

I feel that Pet Society is one of such pet site games that was so underrated too. It was quite a game back in the days. As long as you have a Facebook account, you can play the game. It's unfortunate what happened to the game after EA took over ownership and licensing rights to Pet Society, shut it down in 2013, much to the chagrin of its active users.

I think Rescreatu is underrated as is Runetails. Both of these games have quality features and gameplay elements, however, they're not talked about that much.

Rescreatu's hatching system is pretty cool. Runetails has rpg elements like mining, bug catching, combat training, fishing and mining. These features are pretty neat and can keep you entertained as a player.

Atrocity is another one, they're quite feature rich and have a wide variety of content.

There is an old virtual pet game I stumbled upon. It is called "Creatures". And it is a PC only game. I really feel this game is underrated because it is hardly mentioned in conversations about Virtual Pet games. It featured only it's unique pet called Norns. These pets had a very separate unique biology than we are familiar with. Grossly underrated.

I totally agree!! I was absolutely obsessed with them when I was new to PC gaming, they were the most alive virtual pet I had ever known. The fact they even have basic brain chemistry and hormonal systems that were intended to be observed and manipulated was stunning. I've yet to actually find a virtual pet which meets the high expectations that series gave me(;´д`)ゞ

I don't know if anyone has heard about a virtual pet game called Boing Boing animals. I have played it and I believe it is underrated in the virtual pet gaming space. It has one of the deepest evolutionary system that I have seen in a virtual pet game. Everything about how you manage your environment affects the performance of your pet. It is very advanced but underrated.
