A lot of movies have got lots of reviews spread all over the Internet. There are various sites where you can read reviews about some of those movies.

Those who have watched some of those movies always go out to give their reviews about these movies.

Are you the type that would rather read reviews before deciding to watch movies, or do you watch them first, not minding reviews?

I used to read reviews before seeing any movie, well some of them works perfectly the way the reviews stated them while some are nothing to write home about.
I have a group on Facebook that I will always check about their reviews before going to download the movies, reviews are good and bad too.

Sometimes, usually a trailer sells me on watching it and if I look up a review, I might be spoiled.

A trailer can make me want to watch a movie, but once the beginning is not giving me good vibes and feelings, I might stop watching the movie. It's just how it is for me.

I love to watch announcement trailers and read the reviews of movies before I jump on them. I don't want to waste my precious time watching movies that are not interesting. That is why I read reviews before watching movies.

Reading reviews can be misleading, sometimes. This is especially when those reviews are paid reviews. You will be shocked to be seeing a different thing when you are watching those movies with some nice positive reviews.

What I usually follow is how the movie does well in the box office. If it's selling well, I will watch it immediately. It's how I get to watch Havoc when I saw how good it was toping on Netflix.

This is a smart move. Following the trends is a good idea as more people would definitely want to see a movie that is performing well.

I don't read reviews but I do check the IMDB rating. The reason I am checking is because I want to have a general insight and who is acting in the movie. If I see black person playing white person role, I am not watching that garbage.

I used to fall for this reviews when I haven't know or understand how it works until my brother told me that people used to pay for reviews so that their goods will sell. Since then, it's hard for me to trust reviews with all my heart.

I usually read reviews to get a better sense of the kind of film I would be watching. I look for something that falls in my areas of interest . That's what can help me in deciding whether I would want to watch that film or not.

Nah I never read reviews of games or movies, most of the time they're wrong and don't do a good job reviewing the film or game. I watch trailers of movies that I'm interested in and that helps me determine if I'm going to watch it or not.

For sure!
I am kinda picky when it comes to movies, drama and anime. I hate wasting my time.... So....I always go through the summary and reviews before giving it a try.

The ratings are more like a review, right? I am trying to fully understand because if I watch movies based on ratings, I would consider it the same as reading reviews.

On IMDB anyone can rate a movie if they have an account. You can additionally write a review if you would like to. But sometimes what people really dislike I can like. So I don't fully rely on the ratings but they are a pretty good indicator.

Ratings and reviews is like telling us the same thing. I can rate a movie or a products because I don't want the producers to feel bad but it still doesn't show that rating a movie is the best way to get the good ones.

For me, the IMDB ratings can open a broad window to what critics think of a movie, but it might not be an authentic review.

I try to read reviews before I watch any movie. It helps me to get the vibes in the movie from the get go. A good movie that doesn't start strong could easily get boring for me at that beginning if I didn't read reviews to have a slight knowledge of the essence of the movie. And I can even abandon the movie midway. Reading reviews about a movie gives me confidence to keep on.

I typically look at a film's synopsis and average stars/review score, then skim reviews to get a loose impression. I've never particularly cared about spoilers (I think most good media should work even if spoiled) so I don't mind that aspect of reading reviews before I watch a movie.

My partner often ropes me into random movies he found and I'll watch 'em without knowing anything about them. I watched The Core (2003), for example, and was shocked to learn that the reviews for it were so poor. It's a really great emotional movie for a 2000s disaster film.

I also take popularity/notoriety into account, even if the reviews aren't good. Sometimes its worth it to watch a movie just because everybody else has.

I sometimes read reviews before watching movies but I don't always follow the review. If the movie is on my must watch list, I will go and watch it even when the reviews tells it is very bad.

Deciding without the noise on the Internet is pretty fine. The only way that you can get to know if that particular movie is good or not is by watching and just like you said, reviews from others shouldn't be a yardstick for you to watch the movie or not.

I know I have a habit of looking up what happens during a movie or show while I'm watching it. 🤣 The reviews don't really move me that much though as some of them can be influenced by the movie creators or the show's producers. Especially if they pay certain influencers on social media to discuss those movies.

Most movies or shows tend to get spoiled relatively quick, especially on social media. But, I don't mind spoilers.
