Morals can be a strong thing for some people. If someone is very strict about their personal morals, there are some things they will never do even if it's in playing video games.

Have your morals positively or negatively impacted on how you play video games?

Often I'll abide by my real-life values first in a game, and then on a repeat playthrough I'll do other paths... Video games are a good place to explore experiences we otherwise wouldn't have without hurting anyone. So I don't really struggle with morally objectionable actions in a (singleplayer) video game. But I can't play most FPS games because I find shooting people/being shot at stressful even in fantasy.

When I play a video game, the aim is to win. And since it is a virtual world, I go to any length to win. There is no one that would be affected by me going the extra mile to win. So I drop all moral inclinations and just strive to win the game.

I carry my morals into everything I do, which also includes gaming. If I’m in a bad mood, I won’t let it bleed into how I treat other players. But when I’m in-game, I’m competitive. I play to win, and when I lose, I learn from it. I’d rather grow from the loss than take it out on someone else.

I wouldn't play to cheat or cut corners with anyone. I don't see it as a valid way of playing games. It is just a game and everyone should get used to the fact that even though we all want to win, cheating as a means of winning should be discouraged at all times.

What happens when you're playing against a cheater? If you can't beat the cheater playing justly, would you let him win against you or cheat to balance the scale?
