Writer’s block is one of my biggest pet peeves because sometimes it can last a few days or it can last a lot longer. However, what usually helps you get over writer’s block?

I have gone through writer's block a few times and it can be frustrating. I find taking some time away and coming back later helps. Heading out for a walk can help the ideas flow.

It’s very frustrating. The main thing that helps me out is when I just write down ideas and write basic things, then come back to it later & see if my ideas start flowing better.

I also noticed that if I take a lot of time away from writing, then writer’s block is a lot harder to overcome smh

I can agree with this. I took a five-year break from writing myself from 2017 - 2022 and coming back I enjoyed, but I found I hit writer's block frequently, which became frustrating.

Now I find I do not hit it as often but it does still sometimes happen.

I don't get writers block much but you could watch a movie and more then likely your ideas will come back to life.

I personally type so much in about 10 years my wrist might need attention.

I get writer's block every morning. I usually listen to music or watch TV, and then it usually goes away. And if that doesn't work, ill listen to music all day until dinner and then for sure writer's block is gone.

Hmm... I get it quite often, tbh. My blog is mostly just a hobby that I do on the side, so I'm not writing in it very often, since it isn't something I'm trying to turn into a side gig. I'm just doing it for fun, so whenever I feel like it, could be a few days, could be weeks or months between posts. I spend most of my time with family IRL, and my new job I'll need to be setting time aside for.

I like tips on changing the environment. I also find talking to fellow writers or joining writing groups very helpful as well. Because if you share struggles and hear from others' experiences, it’ll help provide fresh perspectives.

Reading and research are definitely excellent ways to reboot yourself. I also try to overcome writer’s block by setting tiny and achievable goals. Sometimes, I boost my momentum by writing just 250 words of content.

I never go through writer's block because I can always think of something to write about.

What does happen, though, is word block. I often know exactly what I'm writing, and then get to the point in the sentence where I am at the point of, "What word was that I was going to select? If I can't think of it, I need to rewrite this entire sentence, and maybe the entire paragraph, or it won't flow as I intended."

There have been some times that I can think of what to write but due to the sentences not making sense to me, I will rewrite or I can start afresh to write it again. I didn't know that's word block happening to me.

I am more of a designer than a writer, just like writers we also have designers block. In times like this what I normally do is to take a break. I stop struggling and just focus on something else, it could be a movie, a good book, or even games. After a while I make a little research on projects done by others, since my mind is in a more relaxed state, it helps me easily pick one or two things that I can use for my own work. As a writer going to new places is also a good way to fight writer's block.

Yeah, I would attribute writer's block as being unable to come up with what happens next in the story or not even being able to start a story/plot/subplot.

But, I don't know if word block is a thing for writers, as it's only something that I've come across in my own work and never pursued writing courses more than I had to (stopped at the required level to get my bachelor's) to know if that's apart of "writer's block".

I will be writing exactly what I know I am writing, but be unable to finish it because I come to a word that I knew I was going to use, but just couldn't recall it, or it means something different than what I originally thought. So, I'll need to look up the word to verify that's the one I was going for, and if not, question the entire block of text I just wrote to try and figure out what I was aiming for. And if I still can't determine what I was trying to convey with that word or phrase, I'll need to rewrite it. However, there's no writer's block, per se, as I know what I am writing, I just can't express it the way I set out to do the first time.

I don't experience writer's block, my problem is procrastination. Sometimes I feel too lazy to write but I never feel any kind of block in my mind. When I don't feel like writing, and when words don't come easily, I start reading my old works or chat with AI to get inspiration immediately.

@Nomad The way I see it, there are many different forms of writer's block. It could be idea generation or lack of ability to put ideas in words. For me, freewriting helped me to deal with writer's block many times.
