X/Twitter is rolling out a new TV app and its currently available on some app stores.

What are your thoughts on this? Will you be using X/Twitter to watch videos and/or Tv?

I sometimes miss regular TV channels. The only thing I can get here is a satellite downlink from a military feed (Armed Forces Network). They curate shows on their own channels, which isn't too bad.

However, there are a lot of shows I am missing out on if they don't go straight to streaming because of this.

I'm trying to find an app that won't charge an arm and a leg for some regular channels like History, Discovery, MTV, etc. The only thing I've found is YouTube TV, but it's like $60/month, and on top of YouTube Premium, it'd be closer to $75. That said, I would only be able to watch it on one of my TVs because it's a smart TV that allows me to download a VPN, which is always on so I can get American Netflix, Tubi, and Freevee.

Hopefully, this offers some channels for free.

For me, it seemed like it might be tough from a competition standpoint. There are so many platforms offering video content and the competition is steep.

That's what became the problem, in my opinion.

It was nice to have Netflix only for $10 a month. Then, studios started pulling their movies from the catalog and starting their own service for $10. If you add them all up, it'd be like a $70-100 cable subscription service.

I much would've preferred Netflix to raise their price to like, $40, and have the catalog grow much faster than all these other streaming services pop up. It makes it hard to manage which one to choose.

However, with all the services, you do have the ability to stream hop. In that, you can binge something on X for a month, cancel the subscription, then go to Y for a month, ultimately saving money from an increased Netflix subscription fee. Though, that seems like it would be annoying to manage to ensure you are canceled before the next billing cycle.
