Thank you! I appreciate you saying that 😀I feel like I'm really struggling to find time to do things I want these days. But that's how it is when you are breaking into a new career field. I'm also still trying to acclimate living in Sweden which means studying Swedish and studying for my Swedish Driver's License Exam. But I've really missed working on my game so I decided I can at least find time to work on my art I actually did a redesign of my first starter set and added some color variations.

Even though it can be a bit tough I really enjoy getting to do so much every day and learning new things. My internship will be a big help though since I'm working so much with databases.

I did a thing! Introducing the prototype pony generator!

I've been wanting to make a live generator for some time now, but my skills just were not there yet. So I've been thinking how can I make something people can use and I've come up with an prototype. I've recently learned how to use React and I thought that would be a great tool to design something dynamic. This actually doesn't use a database connection but instead uses CSS filtering to alter the images to color the ponies. I haven't added the traits in yet, but I have male and female for each breed 😀. Also since this is built in React and not Laravel I won't be using it directly in my game but it's a cool side project for my portfolio.

And since the images aren't actually rendered as one layer or saved I haven't spent time figuring out a way to download the generated images yet but it still cool to play around with! And of course it is mobile friendly 😉

You're welcome! The new designs are looking great! I really like the new color variations. They're pretty sleek. How is it learning a new language? I tried to learn Spanish in the past, but that didn't go too well. I know some basic words though. Some of my relatives speak Creole and Spanish, but I have to get another relative to translate for me when I speak to them. I might have to revist learning Spanish or Creole again in the near future.

How's the weather in Swedan compared to the United States?

It is very hard learning a new language. I feel too old for it but I'm not giving up. You should get back into it if nothing else it does feel amazing when I understand something new although it's not as satisfying as learning coding lol. I live really far north like right outside the arctic circle so the climate is much colder than in Washington DC where I used to live. But I actually don't mind the cold with the right jacket you don't even feel it unless the wind is blowing but my husband got me a ski mask and goggles for that 🤣​

Finished the Baby Special Traits!​

Continuing progress on My Dream Pony! An upcoming virtual pet site. Special traits will be markings you can apply to your pony to make wonderful new designs! Ponies will be born as babies and if they have these special traits they will appear in their baby form as well​

You're absolutely right. I should start by watching some Youtube videos and see if i can learn more than just the basic words. It would be nice to actually speak to some of my relatives in Creole or Spanish one day. Some of them aren't exactly able to speak English that well, so I always have to use a translator or ask another relative what they said, lol.

I know that feeling, my hometown was pretty cold(Massachusetts), but Texas' cold is far worst. The wind absolutely sucks and the wind chill factor, it is nothin like being back home. I'm still not used to Texas' cold after 17-18 years of being out here. 🤣

Ya I've been meaning to get all the baby traits done for a while so glad I finally got them done. I'm glad you like the dragon I think the Kittling baby is my favorite I'm a sucker for toe beans. I like the green and black one too, that one and the rainbow kittling ❤️

The Forums are underway!
I've been switching back to coding this last week with my main focus being getting some ground work done on the forums. The forums will be a place for adventurers to socialize, advertise, share characters, stories and interests. Nothing super fancy since I'm still new to coding but I sitll want to give players ways to express themselves.

This is my first time coding a forum in PHP, but I think I'm moving along at a steady pace. Also please note the layout right now is still in flux and this is all still largely development and subject to change. This will be one of the main ways for players to interact with each other. You'll be able to customize your posts to an extend using BBC codes (as shown in the demo).

Players will be able to freely change the ear, tail, and skin colors. The hair and clothes will be pre-colored for now. But you can still match the ears with the premade or color them to contrast. Each hairstyle version comes in short, medium or long 😊 and now time for a break for me.

I like this customization aspect. It's a nice way to add more personality to each character. Pretty cool! 😀 Nice work on the forums. They look great. Coding a forum from scratch can be pretty tough, but you did it quite well. ^_^. Can't wait to see the finalized version!

Hi!

Life is getting busy I'll be starting school soon for backend development, but I'm also tinkering with my game in my spare time. I've been working on how the breeding menus will work in game and starting to work on the color mixing logics as well as the baby pony image generation!

You'll be able to breed male and female adult ponies together to create new color and gene combinations for the babies.
This first testing looks at the basic process, user prompts and of course the actual mixing of colors and genes in the final test baby. These are the basic building blocks, but the breeding mechanics will also become a bit more advanced as the game develops.

Decided I want to go in a different direction with the avatar bases making them more cherub like with rounded hair tips and softer colors/hair shines. @.@ just made a huge pile of extra work for myself but I'm liking the new looks much better.

Hello everyone!

Man I have been so busy lately but learning a lot I'm coding from 8:30am to like 10:00pm everyday but I still set aside a little time in my day to work on my game 😄This week my goal was to really improve my breeding logic. I think I finally have a good basis for how the colors will be mixed and I have some initial ideas for the basics:

• Any adult male and adult female pony can breed. Which means inbreeding will be in the game
• You can breed any types of ponies together (unicorn, dragon, kittling, avian) there will be a 50% chance the babies come out either breed. For now. In the future there will be hybrids types that come as a fix chance
• Special Traits that are the patterns for ponies will be passed with a dominance hierarchy (more to come on this) with the newest special traits being recessive to the older.
• And the most important part the color mixing. This will be done using RGB calculations. The babies color will end up being a color between the parents or possibly a new color depending on how the variation is calculated (this will be expanded on). But to give you an idea what I mean I did some test breeding of the male and female and got the following results:
  
  

The parents were also generated using the generator logic I was going for all black ponies, but you can't always get what you want on the first try of making a pony then the game would be too easy right😉

Aww, they're adorable! I like the direction that you're heading with the breeding system. Not being able to get all black ponies will add more rarity to the game and a chance of luck/chance. That's a good idea!

Being able to breed any type of pony together is also cool. I can't wait to play around with the breeding system in the near future. Keep up the great work! 😀

Her Backstory

Before her there was the empty nothingness of darkness. In an instance or an eon Yemoa drew her first breaths and with it blessed the universe with light. From the light all were born as Yemoa grew her imagination brought forth more and more life into the universe. Embuing her very essence into every living being Yemoa transformed the vast emptiness into a universe teaming with life. As the millennia passed Yemoa’s energy wanned her love for life and creation urged her to expand her light throughout the countless galaxies. As a greater goddess her powers were vast but not endless.
Yemoa had expended too much energy bringing light into the universe; she fell into a deep regenerative sleep to restore the light essence consumed giving life. With sleep came dreams, beautiful vivid dreams of a peaceful realm with sparkling oceans and breezy meadows. Strange and colorful creatures roamed the land all were at peace as Yemoa basked in the warm sunsets in this dream realm. This realm came to be known as Geldingmire. In only a hundred years in this beautiful dream Yemoa was able to restore her light, however it was her most earnest wish to remain connected to this realm outside of existence. From her light she created an effervescent rainbow crystal, the Luminara Crystal. A departing blessing she bestowed upon the lands of Geldingmire to help maintain balance, peace and tranquility throughout the land.

A new pony breed concept design! Currently unnamed, but taking a poll on the Tubmlr for the possible options (Flutterfae, Fae Pony, Nymphalyn)

and a coding update! I have finished coding the genetic breeding mechanics I need to do a detailed explanation because it is quite a logic tree with that one.

Hi everyone! Time for a quick update on NPC Mechanics

Been working on making some updated NPC artwork. She is currently unnamed, but she will be Bakery 🍩or Confectionary shop owner. I have also been thinking about how the NPCs can do a little more than just run shops and ask for quests and I thought it would be fun to have socializing features with NPC.
Socializing will be a time restricted activity. That means that there will be no way for a player to completely maximize an NPC in a short time period. You can think of socializing NPCs like leveling with your pony. You will start at a base 0 points and gain points with each positive interaction with the NPC. You can never lose your gained points even if you stop interacting with the NPC or you do something the NPC doesn’t like.
Each NPC will have their own preference for interaction but they all fall into the following categories:

• 🎁 Gift giving: player donates item to NPC
• ❓Quest completion: player completes in-game task
• 💬 Chatting: player chats with the NPC (chat method TBD)
• 🏆 Achievements: the NPC requires players to have unlocked certain achievements or milestones in the game.

The more you an NPC likes you the more benefits they'll give you in game like store discounts, special items, and access to extra content.

I'm a little late updating my progress here I usually like to keep all the updates current between my tumblr and our forum but life has been so busy lately. So sorry in advanced this will be kind of a long post:

NPC Shops OTW!

I have started to work on the NPC shop functionality, buying items, NPC interactions, shop restocking and game UI for mobile/desktop! The icons you see appearing beside the NPC's name will be how you can interact further with shopkeepers. You'll be able to gift them items or have dialogs that can improve your social status with them. This is still just the first-look and the final layout is likely.
New Adventures Equestrial!
Meet the Equestrial Adventurers! They are an Elemental race attuned with Earth. So far, they are the largest adventurer type it was quite tough fitting a centaur form into the frame, but I think they are my favorite race thus far. More to come on them later.

I've been working on things every chance I get between school and my internship! I've even had some time to sketch out some new ideas for a transformative new feature!
