Hello everyone,

This has been a very long time coming. Virtual Pet List has had a significant update.

Somethings include
- New forum layout
- New Theme
- New Options for users in their profiles (links to other sign-ons)
- New ways to create threads - Discussions, Polls, Articles and Questions
- The Tagging System is now live; make sure to use tags on your posts. 🙂
- VP Directory Update - New Layout and more information can be added to support the owners/ creators of the Directory.
- New user Ranks and Options

More will be added in the coming days.

You're welcome, I appreciate everything you do for me as well. And I like hanging out on your website which is a win-win for me.
 
A new prefix has been added to the directory. If a game is a mobile app, you will now see the prefix at the beginning of the game’s name.

We will be updating the directory and adding the prefix to games that are mobile apps as well.
 
We’ve implemented a new feature: the use of GIFs. If you’d like, you can include them in your posts by clicking the three dots next to the picture icon in the post bit, then select the 'GIF' tab.

You can now quickly access the sub-forums of a main forum by clicking the “folder” icon. It’ll display the sub-forums of a main forum via a drop down menu.

Games that are no longer active will be converted to threads and removed from the directory. Please report any inactive games, so we can take action.

Good work guys, glad to see some new updates to Virtual Pet List 🙂

Always a great feeling to keep the site alive and healthy with new things to add as time progress
 
I know the topic is a bit old, but any plans on upgrading to the latest Xenforo software?

We upgraded to the latest version of Xenforo a couple of weeks ago. We’re running 2.3.3.

We’re anticipating the launch of 2.4.😁
 
New user titles have been implemented. You’ll be able to obtain a new user title by posting around the community.

There are currently 10 user titles in circulation, but we will be adding more in the near future.

It’s now possible to share a post from Bluesky, provided the poster allows their posts to be shared.


Simply copy and paste the URL, and it will automatically embed.





 
To improve navigation, the directory now displays 25 games per page instead of 18. We hope this change makes browsing easier for you!


Additionally, the number of topics displayed on a forum has also been increased from 15 to 25.
 
New emojis have been implemented! We hope you enjoy them! We’ll be adding more relatively soon along with new reactions!

We’ve increased the file size limit, so you can now upload larger images—especially in the marketplace and other areas of the forum!
 
If you’re writing a draft, we’ve increased the draft limit to save for 20 days.

So you’ll no longer have to worry about losing a draft post.

This applies to all messages that you’re working on.

We’ll adjust these limits accordingly.


We’ve also increased the number of threads that display per forum, so instead of showing 15 threads per forum, you’ll see the last 25 threads.

We hope this helps make browsing our forum a lot easier for everyone!
 
Late Tuesday night, our server encountered a technical issue that caused database errors and downtime, which continued into Wednesday afternoon.


To restore the site, we had to roll back to a recent backup. Unfortunately, this means some posts made shortly before the rollback were lost. We know how frustrating that can be, and we truly appreciate your patience during this unexpected issue.


Everything should now be running smoothly, and we’ll be monitoring closely to make sure things stay that way.


We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for sticking with us.
 
We’ve rolled out some backend changes to help improve overall performance and boost the site's speed.
A new caching system is now in place, and we’ve also blocked malicious bots from hitting the server.
 
If you use Threads, Instagram or Facebook, you can now share content from these platforms and embed them on our forum.

Just copy/paste the url and it’ll auto embed.
