As the title says: what do you look for in a pet game? What’s the single most important feature? What comes in second or third? What features in a game, if any, would excite you enough that you’d be willing to support its development? What would encourage you to tell your friends about a game?

I look forward to species that are original like a traditional vps. I love Flight Rising and Wajas for this, they're dragons and canines but they have their own unique species attributes.

Support wise, things to do with pets, the ability to make them more personal! Ik that sounds silly, but back when human avatars became a thing on more traditional vps, I felt a departure from things to do with pets when it came to some sites that implemented a ha system.

Wajas, Chicken Smoothie, and FR (heck even Neopets) allow for so much personalization to pets. The more ways I can customize and personalized them, the more dosh I'm willing to spend. 🙂

I'd say friendly mods and an overall supportive climate of creativity and loyalty are also things I enjoy.

To me the most important things are a friendly community and seeing regular efforts to improve the petsite.

Aside from the friendly community members, I would like to be using a game that has less latency and bugs. There will always be latency but I am looking for a team that can fix issues on the site with urgency.

As a player, the most important feature I look for in a pet game is depth—specifically, a system that makes raising and interacting with pets feel meaningful. I love when pets have unique traits, personalities, or abilities that set them apart and encourage different strategies or playstyles.

Second, I value engaging gameplay loops, like mini-games, competitions, or tasks that give me a reason to log in regularly. Third, a strong sense of community is key. Features like trading, breeding, or events where players can interact make the experience much more enjoyable.

What would really excite me and make me want to support the game is if it had ongoing updates and content expansion—showing that the developers are passionate and committed to growing the game. I’d tell my friends about a game if it felt fresh and innovative, especially if it had a feature that made it stand out from other pet games I’ve played.
